It seems that my 2x great grandpa, William H. O'Bryant was married to Susan M. Marett and she was born 10/30/1853 in Pickens County, South Carolina and died 05/22/1912 in Franklin County, Georgia. Susan and William are buried in Burgess Cemetery in Lavonia, Franklin County, Georgia.
Susan and William had the following children:
1. Tugalo KnoxO'Bryant [1874-1963]
2. Mary C. O'Bryant ]1868-?]
3 William A. O'Bryant [1867-?]
4. Lettie O'Bryant [1875-1926]
5. Martha O'Bryant [1878-?
6. Roxie O'Bryant [1884-1920]
7.Icey B. O'Bryant [1887-1911]
This is a big help with trying to find out more information about the O'Bryant and Maret(t) family and how they married into each other alot.
I have found out alot of information about my great grandma, Roxie just within the last week or two (2) and for a long time, I couldn't find out when she died or what had happened to her and come to find out that she died while giving birth to an unknown child and she is buried in Burgess Cemetery in Lavonia, Franklin County, Georgia along with what seems alot of the Maret(t) families. So when my cousin has time, myself her and another cousin will be going down there and taking some pictures and doing a little bit more investigation into the families that are down there.
Now the next goal is find out who were William's parents and where they come from? When I was younger, my grandmother said that her father, which would be William Lawrence moss and her mother Roxie O'Bryant. She said that one of them was Scottish and the other one was German, but I am thinking that she was referring to their ancestry, because I know that Moss was of German origin and it sounds like O'Bryant was of Scottish origin.
As soon as I get down there to the cemetery, I will be posting the graves of William H and Susan and part of that investigation will be done? I will be trying my best to work on the O'Bryant side of the family, because I know that this is going to be taking me some time?
